375 surnames in my family tree so far. And no, it’s not because I married half of them, that can only account for a few of them. 😉
I was flipping back through my journal trying to find a date on when something happened, and an entry that I wrote stuck out to me and I would like to share it with all of you.
“I’m sitting here thinking about working on my family tree and what it has meant to me and it is so hard to describe but it’s like filling in the pieces of my soul. Learning of my ancestors and their journeys has been very humbling. Their sacrifices are the reason I’m here and the reason for who I am. Working on my tree is a huge responsibility because I want to get it right, I want to tell their stories, and want it to do my Ancestor’s justice. It makes me want to stand up and do something great, to make their journey worth while.”
