Just a few more hours, and 2011 will be a thing of the past. Gone. Finished.
It would be hard not to reflect back over the year tonight and think about the good things that have happened, and even the bad.
2011 brought me into contact with many distant cousins I had no idea even existed and I treasure each and every one of them. My life has been enriched by getting to know them.
I turned 40 this year, I watched my children grow, and my family endure. My mother was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s and I had several family members that underwent their own trials with surgeries and sickness. We lost a dear cousin, Susan Elaine Harris and we are still praying for her family. My stepdaughter Morgan lost her mother unexpectedly this year as well.
No matter what happens; good or bad, life goes on and so must we. We just don’t have to do it alone. We have our families, friends and God to carry us through.
Today happens to be my first anniversary with my husband, so I’m also reflecting on my wedding last New Year’s Eve. Happy Anniversary Honey!
I wouldn’t trade this year for anything. I’ve been blessed, happy and looking forward to 2012. I feel lucky to be given the time to make more memories with my mother, even if she won’t remember them, I will.
So to everyone, have a good time tonight, be safe, please don’t drink and drive and I’ll see you next year.
Susie
