A while back I went to the Hughes Cemetery in Bowie County, Texas to find the graves of my 3rd great-grandfather, Alfred Gatewood Hoskins, and my 2nd great-grandmother, Mary Hoskins Anderson. You can read about that trip here: Tombstone Tuesday – Hughes Knight Cemetery. Not long ago, I was contacted by a lady who had a family bible of the Hughes family and offered to send it to me. I took her up on the offer and received the bible in the mail.
I had been trying for a long time to connect my family with the Hughes family, and the only connection I can find between them, is the church they all went to. I went on Ancestry.com and found a great-grandson of someone listed in the bible, and I will be mailing the bible to him on Monday. Needless to say, he is thrilled to be getting the bible, and I am thrilled to be sending it to him. I love it when lost treasures find their way home.
