C, 6th Arkansas Cavalry, at Washington, Arkansas, May 15, 1862 for a period of three years; brought his own horse and own gun; appointed third corporal, May 15, 1862; present, April 30, 1863; promoted second sergeant, October 21, 1862; present, February 29, 1864; captured at Ironton, Missouri, October 13, 1864; confined at U.S. Military Prison, Alton, Illinois; admitted to Gratiot Street USA Prison Hospital, November 12, 1864; transferred to U.S. Military Prison, Point Lookout, Maryland, for exchange, February 17, 1865; no further record.

Born Feb 28, 1833 in TN, the son of James T Scott and Eliza Margaret Land. Married Elizabeth Ann Herring December 28, 1856 in Lafayette Co AR. They had three children, Francis T, Eliza Angelling and Calvin Jr. Elizabeth apparently died shortly after the birth of Calvin Jr in 1862. Lafayette Co Court Record, Book D, April Term of Court 1863, pages 145-153 lists Calvin Scott's children living with his mother. He married Celestia Ann Sears September 6, 1866 in Lafayette Co AR and they had one daughter, Mary Willis born September 23, 1867. Listed in Red River township, Lafayette Co 1860 census, occupation overseer. Filed for a Federal land grant patent on December 10, 1868. He died in Miller Co AR in Feb 1869.
