Lou Jane Starks, 79, of Texarkana, AR passed away February 2, 2012 in a local nursing home. Mrs. Starks was born July 1, 1932 in Texarkana, AR. She was a member of First United Methodist Church, Texarkana, AR; North Heights Alumni Association; and National Daylily Association.
Survivors include her husband, Charlie Starks of Texarkana, AR; son and daughter-in-law, Jack and Vicky Starks of Texarkana; granddaughters and grandsons-in-law, Johna and Jason Orr of Searcy, AR and Jamie and Josh Newberry of Fayetteville, AR; grandson and granddaughter-in-law, Cullen and Callie Starks of Texarkana; brother and sister-in-law, Rufus and Mary Helen Higginbotham of Little Rock, AR; special friends, John and Rene Harmon of Palestine, TX and Mary Whidden of Texarkana; plus numerous nieces and nephews.
Services will be 10 a.m., Monday, February 6, 2012 at East Memorial Chapel - Downtown with Rev. Bruce Bennett officiating. Burial will be in East Memorial Gardens under the direction of East Funeral Home - Downtown.
Family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m., Sunday, February 5, 2012 at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church, Texarkana, AR; Watersprings Ranch; or Dierkson Hospice.
